Welcome to Ayrfield Medical Practice

We want to deal with all your health needs and most of our services are running and we have added Online Services for your convivence in these very challenging times to help you access our services (see below). However in line with HSE Guidelines there is controlled access to the practice building. If you are entering the practice please wear a mask covering your mouth and nose at all times.

You should self-isolate (stay in your room) phone the surgery to speak to a GP (056 7721320) or complete our PCR Referral Request Form to see if you need testing for Covid-19.

Contraception for women age 17-25

 

We are delighted to be able to offer free contraception advice and prescriptions to women age 17-25 years as part of the new national free contraceptive service scheme. 

All contraceptive methods are covered 

Pill/ patch/ ring

Coils (Mirena/Jaydess/Kyleena)

Implant (Implanon)

Injection (Depo provera)

 

To avail of this service patients should request an appointment using this link.... or phone  reception advising them  that the appointment is part of this scheme.

 

Patients  will need to have their PPS number to avail of the scheme

Symptoms of COVID-19

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 (coronavirus)self-isolate (stay in your room) and get a COVID-19 test.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

You may not have all of these symptoms or your symptoms may be mild. Symptoms may vary for different age groups or variants of the virus.

It can take up to 14 days after you are infected for symptoms to show. You can spread COVID-19 during this time.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can be similar to symptoms of coldflu or hay fever.

Less common symptoms

Less common symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this could mean they're completely gone or just different to normal

  • nasal congestion (runny or blocked nose)

  • conjunctivitis (also known as red eyes)

  • sore throat

  • headache

  • muscle or joint pain (aches and pains)

  • different types of skin rash

  • nausea or vomiting

  • diarrhoea

  • chills or dizziness

We are aware that COVID-19 has placed financial strain on many families and individuals. If your financial situation has changed you may be entitled to a Doctor Visit Card or a Medical Card. If you have any queries please get in touch and we can advise you on the application process.
